The Twelfth Night

“Yes I can’t wait!”

Today is the day I move to Australia and I have been looking forward to it for months. I suppose you’re wondering why I’m looking forward to moving away from my family but the truth is I have no family in this country and I am moving away to live with the only family I have left, my Uncle who lives in Australia. Anyway the foster home paid for me to go so the journey begins...

The Trip

My foster worker came with me on the plane his name is Phil and he is the nicest person I know when we got on the plane it was ten o’clock so Phil went straight to sleep but for some reason I couldn’t get to sleep I don’t know whether It was because I was excited or it was my first time on a plane but I knew either way this was going to be a long night.

Day 1
Today when I arrived at the airport Uncle Tom was there to greet me I had never met him before and he was very different to what I’d imagined, he was wearing a black suit with a tie and those blacked out sunglasses the type secret agents would wear, but the most noticeable thing was how small he is, I mean I was taller than him when I was nine, even Phil had to ask for ID to confirm his age. After I said goodbye to Phil, Uncle Tom took me home. To get to his house you have to go up this colossal hill and his house is at the very top. When we got closer I could see the house and let me tell you now for such a small man he has a gigantic house, as soon as I saw it I asked him what he did for a living (or should I say a luxury lifestyle?) “I own a television company” he said “nothing much just enough to keep me going” “what!” I shouted so loud he swerved the car and nearly hit the wall “just enough to keep you going, you live in a mansion!” I exclaimed. No reply.  “We’re here” he said in a cheerful tone as we pulled up on the driveway “It’s very late so Mary will take you straight to your room and put you to bed” “Who’s Mary” I asked “my maid” he replied.

Day 2

Today was very boring considering that I had just moved into the biggest house on the planet with a rich Uncle. Mary said he had to leave early because he had an important meeting so she gave me a tour of the house which took all day. I was so tired from the plane   and the car journey that I had an early night and went to bed at eight o’clock.

Day 3

Today Uncle Tom said the producers of a new quiz show for eleven to thirteen year olds would let me be the co host, the first one gets rehearsed in nine days!

Day 4

Today I played on the Xbox 360 on a 90 inch plasma TV.

Day 5

Uncle Tom brought the script for my show home.

Day 6

I read over my script.
Day 7
I learnt my script.
Day 8
I rehearsed my script.
Day 9
Three more days to the show!
Day 10
I am officially the most excited person on the planet!
Day 11
It’s tomorrow!
Day 12
I woke up at two o’clock in the morning and got washed, brushed my teeth, combed my hair and put on the best clothes I had. I rehearsed the script millions of times until nine o’clock when we left. It took about an hour to get there and the studios looked like Hollywood with big gates and numerous security offices it was strange to think my Uncle owned all this! We went straight to studio seven and I met the producer Alex, the director John and my co host Peter. We got started straight away:
Script
Ross (that’s me): Hi guys. Welcome to the show where nobody knows what will happen next.
Peter: Let’s welcome our contestants for today. (Contestants roll run and zip line in.)
Ross: OK question one: how does a cowboy ride into a village on Friday sleeps in that village overnight and go home on Friday?
(Contestant presses buzzer.)
Contestant: The cowboy’s horse is called Friday.
Peter: That’s correct!
And it simply went on like that. The producer said we did so well today that it will be on TV tonight! I phoned Phil Immediately to tell him and everyone at the foster home to watch it!
I have the best Uncle ever!
